CSC 215 Weekly Assignments: Week 12

CSC 215

Overview

Our goal for the week is to complete Section IV: A Library of User Subroutines and begin Section V: Disk File Access.

Thursday and Friday, November 14th and 15th

I am in L.A. with my son who is getting married. As we discussed, you should read (and re-read and re-re-read) Chapter 15: The File Control Block in our text. Brendan will be presenting a summary of this chapter to the period 1A class on Monday, and ... will be presenting a summary of it in the 3B class on Tuesday, but everyone will be expected to have good notes in their git repos indicating they put in the effort to understand it.

Monday and Wednesday, November 10th and 12th

Classwork

During the first half of class today you will share the interactive assembly language programs that you developed last week.

In the second half of class, we'll discuss our last section in our study of assembly language programming in CP/M, V: Disk File Access and get a pair that hasn't presented a chapter summary yet to take on a very important challenge: presenting a summary of Chapter 15: The File Control Block.

Here are the programs y'all shared in class:

We will have a short quiz on ideas from these programs in class next week.

Evaluation

I will evaluate your both your class presentations and your git repos using our class git repo rubric.

Homework

Read Chapter 15: The File Control Block, and add notes to your git repo that indicate you have been reading for understanding.
